I have decided to go with my 3rd idea of using multiple quotes on the theme of war. Here a few quotes I plan to use and record for next week. I will record all of these quotes and decide later which ones to use.
“War is what happens when language fails.”
― Margaret Atwood
“I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Two Towers
“It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets.”
― Voltaire
“Only the dead have seen the end of war.”
― Plato
“All war is a symptom of man's failure as a thinking animal.”
― John Steinbeck
“If everyone fought for their own convictions there would be no war.”
― Leo Tolstoy, War and Peace
“When the rich wage war it's the poor who die.”
― Jean-Paul Sartre, Le diable et le bon dieu
